In 2022, Takuro Sekimachi started to investigate into a forgotten history of a significant international tour of the Hiroshima Panels from the 1950s to the 1970s. He studies the international touring exhibition, showing how the paintings were received among 20 countries during the Cold War period. He is interested in nuclear culture, art and politics in the Cold War and transnational/transcultural memory.
This project is supported by the Maruki Gallery for the Hiroshima Panels and Hisako Maruki.
